The idea started when our family began getting questions about health and fitness. The Healthitude website was created to help our friends and family navigate the confusing information, and shortly after, we became partners with Team Beachbody, to help people who were not in our vicinity. As the business progressed, we added classes, new skills and an adventure club.
Over the years, we grew and expanded. Our revenue has surpassed half a million, over roughly 10 years. In 2016, we decided to move from a sole proprietorship to an LLC.
Allow me to introduce us. I am Karla Mohtashemi, CEO of Healthitude LLC and my daughter, Katheranne Reese (Kat), is President. We are a powerhouse team committed to helping our community learn ways to stop struggling with an unhealthy obsession with food, and lack of movement. We have spoken publicly at schools, seminars and live on radio and television.

Our happiest accomplishment is that we have been able to help hundreds of people lose weight and gain confidence. Below are a few pictures of our success stories.

challenging grip.

Our team has been able to reach thousands of people, in many different countries, and as a result, many have built thriving businesses of their own!

And it all started with an idea, a mantra:
“My wish for you is that you find abundance…
that you create a fitter future for yourself and your family.
Now go out and change the world.”

Coach Karla received her B.A.in 1988. Karla’s degree was in Fine and Commercial Arts, with a minor in Science. Feeling a draw between both medicine, and Fine Art was challenging. Pre-med classes held her interest, yet her desire to create was strong as well. Karla worked in Fine and Commercial Arts for 20+ years, and still teaches and creates.
The desire to help others drew her to open Healthitude. Since then, Karla has been certified in several health related disciplines.
Specialist in Fitness Nutrition by ISSA
Corrective Exercise by ISSA
2B Mindset Mentor
Ultimate Portion Fix Master Coach
Certified P90X Instructor
Certified Insanity Instructor
Certified Core De Force Instructor
Certified Cize Live Instructor
This continuing education has helped her create an environment where fitness is predicated by nutrition.

A few words from Karla:
“Kat and I have each struggled in our own way. We have felt the pain of loss from preventable diseases, and we, ourselves have struggled with eating disorders and feelings of inadequacy.
We want to bring a solution to families, so that the next generation will benefit from the advantages we have given their parents. I believe that everyone deserves to feel good in their skin, and happy with their lives.
By crafting cooperative, meaningful relationships, encouraging personal growth through fitness, nutrition and outdoor recreation, I truly believe that people can learn to flourish. And in doing so, they will reach their higher potential, to help others.

Kat has been a fitness coach for the last 9 years, teaching everything from P90X, to yoga, to circus acrobatics. Her diverse movement vocabulary enables her to creatively problem solve, and offer a comprehensive perspective. She has taught environmental science to youth and adults, specializing in the Pacific Northwest ecology, as well as incorporating indigenous perspectives and traditional ecological knowledge into her teachings. Kat seeks to educate and understand about our human body and our place as an integral part of the natural world.
A few words from Kat:
“There lies within each person a magical seed of potential. My calling in life is to water that seed and watch it grow – to help others see what they can be, how they can bloom.”
Healthitude LLC believes all things are possible and we chose to bring unusual and unique programs into our repertoire.
Aerial Hammock Fitness is one such program. Think Cirque De Soleil for the average person. What better way to help with self confidence than to do something you never thought possible!

Students are wary of the possibilities until they are swinging, hanging, and having fun. Before they know it, they are doing things they never thought possible. See the reviews below.

Our Adventure Club has included and paid many other businesses to facilitate a more well rounded program, that incorporates personal growth through outdoor recreation.
We often outsource other teachers to create the type of experience that benefits everyone. Below, you see teacher/choreographer/actress, Dreya Weber with our class.

Strengthening confidence, and developing educational journeys, through place-based learning is a fundamental goal of our business, and precisely why we started Healthitude Wild our Adventure with Intention. This program not only supports local businesses, but establishes an understanding of regional natural history. Please enjoy the following photos of some of our activities.

In 2015, Kat was introduced to the relatively new sport of paddle boarding. She began as a university student guide, helping to plan and teach river and flatwater trips. Through this experience, she saw the incredible benefits stand up paddle boarding could offer. Aside from the obvious physical benefits of a low impact way to develop partipants strength, proprioception and balance, she saw the mental and community health benefits. There is a unique bond that occurs through outdoor adventure and play, between the participants and nature. It awakens the child in us and helps us to thrive in community through challenge and support. She saw a spark lighting up within participants who began to trust their bodies, believe in themselves, and find the fun together! These experiences led her to earn her teaching certificate from the PSUPA in Flatwater paddle boarding and begin teaching mobile classes in the PNW.
Benefits of Paddle Boarding:
1. Improved Balance and Proprioception
2. Improved Strength in legs, upper body and core
3. Connection to Nature
4. Vitamin D!
5. Connection to your Body
6. Mindfulness/Moving Meditation
7. Sense of Awe
8. Improves Posture
9. Low Impact Exercise
10. Fun!
11. So much more…

Last year, we built our private gym, Avalon, in my own yard, for our clients, who do not have the funds, resources, or opportunity to go to a larger gym, offering the same quality programming, or have been hurt or displaced at such gyms for a number of reasons. We feel that being able to provide a personal experience, in which all clients are welcome, is vital to the health and well-being of our community.
Healthitude LLC provides quality health products and services to families who might not otherwise be able to afford the breadth of service. It was our hope to bring a new, unique disabled veterans program to our community as well. Please watch the video I created in the private facility.
Adaptive Aerial Yoga programs in other states have been very successful, helping disabled clients decompress their spine, flush their lymphatic system, elevate mood, and much more! See the detailed article here.
As a veteran, myself, and someone who has seen, in person, the many challenges veterans go through, I am hoping to get out from under all the debt, to be able to finish this disabled veteran’s program. My Stepfather and my Uncle were both veterans. My Stepfather has shrapnel in his back, and my Uncle self sabotaged his life, until his untimely death from a massive heart attack. Our veterans truly need something to help them.
Recently, a High School friend of mine, who served in the military, committed suicide, because he was bound to a wheelchair and could not handle that life. My idea is to serve our disabled veterans for free, by offering a unique opportunity for them to experience and enjoy.
To facilitate this program, we will need training, rigging and a wheelchair accessible road to the gym.

COVID-19 has impacted our community by closing gyms and educational activities, such as ours. The Home Equity Line of Credit and credit card debt that was taken out to pay for the facility, train our stand up paddle board teacher, and pay for equipment was depending on the activities that were cancelled this year. We have expanded our online offerings, however, it would truly be a blessing to receive this grant, and be able to confidently proceed with our plans.
Healthitude LLC is moving forward with anything we can do to help others in this time of need. As we all know, our health, prior to getting any illness, can dictate the outcome of the illness. Please consider helping us help others. We promise we will put our hearts into this goal, and if we receive this grant, we will pay it forward in any way we possibly can!
