 The Evil Empire of McDonalds!

   Yay!! Death wrapped in a little foil suit!!!! What do you mean death?? Huh?? I mean McDonalds!! And their horrible food, advertisement, treatment of animals and ethics!!

    First off I’d like to tell you why McDonalds advertising has been deemed inappropriate by The high court of England and Greenpeace. McDonald's spends over two billion dollars each year on advertising. Almost 100% of that advertising is aimed towards the cynical exploitation of young helpless children. Did you know that the “Golden Arches” are now more recognized than the Christian cross??!!. Children are our future and we need to protect them, not subject them to places like McDonalds. In just 1 year the obesity rate in children went up from 11% in 1999 to 15.5% in 2000. Here are the leading causes in child obesity according to the American Obesity Association “Causes include: Eating Habits- Over-consumption of high-calorie foods. Some eating patterns that have been associated with this behavior are eating when not hungry, eating while watching TV or doing homework.” Since McDonalds’s new WiFi connection kids are being encouraged to do their homework at McDonalds while snacking on those greasy, salty, calorie packed high starch French fries.

      Did you know false advertising is illegal? Well, it is, and McDolnalds is always advertising their food as “delicious and nutritious.” Delicious? Maybe. Nutritious? Definitely not!! According to my research that is the last word that comes to mind! They are sponsoring sport events and getting athletes to commercialize their food. I highly doubt Serena Williams is going to eat a cheeseburger right before her big game!! How good is it for America to have a McDonalds in almost every hospital in the nation?!!     

   Another advertising scheme is  that MD’s has been putting out “free educational packs”  to schools with questions like these:

Geography: Do you know where in England McDonald's restaurants are?

Math: Add up a collection of baskets of fries.

English: Identify words like Chicken McNuggets, Happy Meals and milk shakes.
